Since I don't know the lyrics, and I was having trouble learning them, I was getting bored of humming while I played it on the guitar, so yesterday, with Google translate and the little bit of Swedish I know, I translated it to English!:) I usually give up trying to translate songs, but I managed to finish this one. It keeps to the tune, and rhymes in the right places, and even my dad liked it.:) The second verse (which he didn't hear) was the hardest to translate, and it's probably the worst part of the song, but it still works pretty well.:)
Here are the lyrics:
In the day so gloomy, and the morning cold,
If you really listen, you will always hear a song.
Somehow through the burdens; somehow through the gray,
It's notes always manage to reach up to me anyway.
Through each day goes a gentle melody,
Made by two in familiarity and sympathy.
From the very first spring,
It has come through all things.
Right behind us, comforting, it's been.
When I want, I can hear the melody:
A song of joy and sadness playing soft and gently.
Through the dark dark of the day,
The song's heard anyway.
I feel as though it's singing all my joy and sadness.
Our song reflects the dreams we had long ago.
Anxiousness and worry, I can hear in it, also.
It sings of illusions, joy and careful thought.
Everything in life, even sadness and being bored.
How do you like it?:) I'm going to try and find a better translation for the last half of the second verse. In Swedish, the last word was 'tristess' but on Google the only translation for it is 'boredom'.:PThe last word of the second-last line translated to 'finesse' which can mean very good thought that winds in and out of things well (or something like that:P). I could make it 'It sings of illusions, gladness and finesse /Everything in life, even sorrow and listlessness'. I don't know if that's a little clumsy though, and I think 'finesse' sound kinda funny in the translation.:P Never mind. You can use that if you want to.:) I also translated 'Då Finns Du Hos Mig', but it didn't work out too well. My dad says it's just a hard song to translate though. I'm starting on 'Utan Dej Mitt Liv Går Vidare', too.:) I hope you like the translation, and have a great day!:)
